and where does you timing suck here?! thats pretty damn sweet - real Bullitt-era feel to it! listening again, for whatever this is worth, i think the only places you fall out of timing (which never reaches the point of 'sucking') are places where i think maybe you hadnt decided beforehand exactly what you were playing - since you said you were 'messing around', i take it you meant they're a bit ad lib? cos for ad lib, that works pretty damn well imho.i dont think i could support that kind of rhythm without major thought. that slightly danny carey-stlye never came easy to me...;D

Bullitt - surely you know what i mean, that Steve McQueen vehicle i think from the sixties or seventies (dont remember dates, me)? if you meant you didnt know what i was referring to, look it up or rent it or something (Best car chase, really subtle) and the music in that fits that slightly retro solo.
glad to see i may have been right in my estimation regarding ad lib - im good;D
do you find being a right handed but playing kick with with left and hihat right has benefitted you? an equivalent to 'open handed', you're sort of doing 'open-footed'?

Well I'm doing both.."open footed and open handed" I can't say that its benefited me in anyway except that I can play things that I normally wouldn't be able to play with my right foot on the bass drum. Setting up left handed has benefited me because its forcing me to be more creative and not fall in the same ruts. I still play most fills leading with my right, but some patterns I used to do, I need to relearn because they just won't work in a left handed setup otherwise. BTW, I posted pics of my kit over in the setups section, or whatever it's called.
