What is your opion of their newish album Chimera? I personally love it, such a mix of old and new sounds.

I think mayhem kicks ass, one of my all time favorite black metal bands ever. De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is my favorite album OVERALL. But best yet it seems is Chimera, its as kickass as de Mysteriis musically. But Technically it fucking OWNS!!!!!!  |

Doesn't get any better than Mayhem for me, I love other bands, but there's only a few I go back to over and over again when I'm tired of everything else, Mayhem's one of them, along with Behemoth and Old Man's Child. Chimera's an amazing album, both technically and musically. It's hard to say if I like it better than De Mysteriis because they both have distinct styles. I'm a big fan of most all of Mayhem's work, and Hellhammer's playing has been an inspiration to me for quite a few years now.

Seen them in Wacken.
I went after half the show.
I dont think that it`s necessary to burn 5 Pig-heads at a liveshow.
I think they have a really nice sound and chimera is the best Black metal album I know.
but I cant really get into the attitude of most black metal bands around (saw gorogoth 2months ago, most arrogant shit i´ve ever seen, and really bad sound)
