I am going to be switching to Evans and wanted to know which heads to use. I was thinking of using the G1s on my 8" and 10" toms and the G2s on my 12 "and 14" toms. Does that make sense?

If you play metal and you're a heavy hitter you probably should avoid using G1's for your batter heads. Also, you can retain a more consistent sound by just using G2's on all your toms.

coated G2s on top clear G1s on the bottom, this will give the best sound.

Well i dont understand why metal drummers, like frost, use clear heads for batter. But everyone recommends coated. I use coated, and they work for now..
